RAIL GUIDED VEHICLES (RGVs)

The RGV car is an intelligent high-speed rail guided carrier system.
The carrier is equipped with a microprocessor/PLC that optimises acceleration/deceleration control and data communication with the Material Tracking System.

The communication is done by means of a Profibus System.
The pallet is transferred to/from the carrier through a conveyor.
All carriers are interchangeable.

The power is done through power bus bar installed along the transfer car aisle. Communication is done trough the power bus, using a low voltage communication system.

An AC geared motor with electromagnetic brake, mounted directly to the transmission axis,
powers the traveling movement. There is an on-board electrical cabinet equipped with a PLC which performs the RGV local control and command.A frequency inverter does the speed control.
Positioning is accomplished by photo-electric sensors positioned both in the carriers and in the load/unload stations.
